Everyday animals die unwanted, unloved, and alone. Many owners abandon their pets, due to lack of money, or lack of interest. others abuse their pets, with starvation, physical abuse, and other forms of mistreatment. instead of dying in the arms of a loving human, many animals are cast out into the streets, and die in sheds, in backyard, in chains, and at the hands of abusive people. No kill shelters try and solve this problem, and as the name implies, they DON'T kill. but this idea has some flaws, as it causes the capacity to almost always be full. These animals, they come here but they don't just disappear. Some stay locked behind bars for the rest of their life, and conditions at the shelter cause many to become mentally unstable, preventing many from being adopted. Animals that are turned away from no kill shelters due to no space are cast out or intentionally killed by owners wanting to get rid of them. Instances involving the flaws of these shelters can be found here: www.peta.org/issues/companion-animal-issues/animal-shelters/kill-label-slowly-killing-animals/. This inspires me because i cant believe people actually can do this, and its in my personal interest to do all i can to help. Many people i know own pets, and if u know how you would feel if that happened to YOUR pet, then i hope you would do what you could to prevent it happening to anothers. However, there are ways you can help. Spread awareness!!! people need to know. ” We can wipe out animal homelessness by working together to strike at the root cause, including by lobbying for laws that have been proved effective in reducing unplanned births and shelter intakes in communities that enforce them and by developing low-cost or free sterilization programs for dogs and cats in every community. In other words, by stopping animal homelessness before it starts. I love how I at least could really get emotional about it, and your post made me care about this problem even more. It was very to the point also. One thing that I might to would be to provide some data that we can see and understand. I really liked it!
